Background
Tripp'n Boba app was created for fun while I was job hunting and completing a freelance job for a client. Although gaining useful skills for the UX design certificate, I noticed that I didn't have a project with a checkout process or transaction of any kind. I currently live on an island with unique circumstances, especially regarding food service; food and drink trucks are an integral part of the community, moving around the island for different events. I noticed that few offer accessible apps or websites to view menus or location availability for the on-the-go user. Focusing on boba drinks, I created a unique app for a mobile truck, allowing the user to locate the truck, group drinks, and send notifications for pickup times.
While researching drink trucks and boba cafes, few offered ordering apps. Busy individuals like myself would love to order from home or on-the-go and set a time for pickup. Being able to locate the a truck's location also ensures that time is not wasted.
Solution & Goals
When I began researching food/drink trucks it was important to me to create a product that offers something new. I noticed that few mobile trucks offer an accessible app for grouping drinks, setting a pickup time, and sending notifications. My goal was to create an app where customers can invite friends to order and receive a reminder when the order is ready for pickup, so they spend less time standing in line waiting for multiple drinks.
Busy individuals lack time to stand in long drink lines. Individuals find it stressful when the location is unknown and there is no way to group drink orders.

Thanks for tripp'n!
As I was designing Tripp'n Boba I loved working on the smallest details from iconography to colors, focusing on the users' needs of wanting to group drinks and selecting a pick up time. I wanted to create a simple and easy path from the splash screen to completion without requiring the user to sign up to place an order. My original mockups highlighted flow issues with drinks added as well as user confusion about the notification text for order pickup. Adding additional screens to fix these issues, I was able to better the user flow. Come trip with us!
